The American Curl is a relatively new breed of cat, of American origin. Cats of the American Curl breed have medium muscular build, a strong neck and chest, and strong legs that allow them to easily jump on different surfaces. This breed gets its name from their unusual ears, which are wide at the base, and gently curved and twisted back. The eyes of the American Curl have the shape of an elongated oval or walnut, obliquely set, the color of the eyes can be different, but often, though not always, it combines with the color of the coat. Speaking of fur, cats of this breed can be short-haired or semi long-haired. The first have soft and silky wool, and the hair is minimal. The latter have the same coat, but there is fur on the collar and tail. Color may be different in both varieties.

They love to play with different toys and spend a lot of time with the owner, and they also get along well with other animals. Important note: If you have decided to get a kitten of this breed, but you have children at home, make sure that they do not touch the ears of the animal, because in this breed they are very fragile. American Curl cats are very curious and like to run and climb on the highest cupboard, so make sure that your pet doesn't fall down and doesn't hurt himself.
